Soprano Alicia Reid holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Recent roles include Adult Jessie in An Extra Penny, Maria Rainer in The Sound of Music with Creative Greensboro, Cinderella in Into the Woods with Lexington Live, and Phoebe in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder and Glinda in The Wizard of Oz, both with Community Theatre of Greensboro. Operatic roles include Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and the title character in Little Red Riding Hood, a children’s outreach opera with the UNC Greensboro Opera Theatre. Alicia has also performed in several productions with Piedmont Opera, including the title character in Pauline Viardot’s Cinderella, Shepherd Boy in Tosca, First Spirit in Die Zauberflöte, and various ensemble roles. In 2022 she was a semifinalist in the National Musical Theatre Competition in New York City, and is also a harpist, voice teacher, and music director.
