The mission of Gate City Voices is to create an inclusive performance outlet for community singers seeking musical excellence. It is an auditioned, volunteer choir that performs with Bel Canto Company, presenting expansive choral works composed for large choirs. Singing a wide variety of music – from works by well-known names of the choral repertory to those of underrepresented composers whose music is often absent from the concert hall – and settings that range from a capella to lush chamber orchestrations.

Auditions
Gate City Voices is looking for singers from a variety of musical backgrounds. You don’t have to be a pro or a classical singer. We are searching for people who love making music with other singers and for voices that will help make the season’s performances exquisite.
Although Gate City Voices is an auditioned choir, don’t let the word “audition” scare you! We ask only that you sing a simple scale and a short excerpt from a choral work that we will provide in advance for you to prepare. No sight-singing, no scowling judges, no pressure!
