I am thrilled to be a part of GYC as the Artistic Director this year. It excites me to share this opportunity to make connections, inspire creativity, and give to the community through music. I look forward to the success that is in store and the personal, musical, and creative achievements that are on the horizon for us all. We can all expect this year to be filled with excitement, fun, and wonderful moments of beautiful music making!
My music teaching philosophy is based in the idea that our space is a place for any and every singer. I believe in the personal character development of those singers through musical interaction. I aim to provide singers with the space and opportunity for individual exploration through creating, performing, and reflecting on music made together. I strive to create a sense of an inclusive community within which we value shared experiences, both musical and non-musical.
This year will be a year like no other. It has been so long since we’ve made music together and I’m looking forward to returning to that. There is so much talent that exists in our community and I am thrilled about cultivating it. There is music to be created and magic to be made! I look forward to working and collaborating with you all!
Best,
LJ
