Wendell C. Putney, a New Jersey native, is retired from a career in information technology.  He has appeared with Greensboro Opera and Piedmont Opera companies as a chorus member in over 40 productions, and has performed as a chorister and soloist with Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, Choral Society of Greensboro, Greensboro Oratorio Singers, and Mebane Community Choir.  He has also sung with Greensboro Light Opera and Song, Winston-Salem Symphony Chorus, UNCG Opera Theatre, and with several church choirs.  Mr. Putney was a member of Bel Canto Company from 2001 to 2012, and has been a member of Gate City Voices since its inception.
