Summary

The Choral Arts Collective is seeking a Program Manager to oversee and manage a variety of programs, events, and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with our mission. We are looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, and self-motivated individual with a passion for music and the arts, a strong commitment to teamwork, and the ability to collaborate with people of all ages and backgrounds.

The Program Manager plays a pivotal role in the successful operation of the Choral Arts Collective. This position serves as the front-line coordinator of events and programming—including Bel Canto CompanyGreensboro Youth Chorus, and Gate City Voices—that form the backbone of our mission to create engaging, inclusive, and entertaining choral experiences.

This role requires strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills; a passion for music; and the ability to manage competing priorities. The Program Manager will collaborate closely with the Executive Director, Artistic Director, ensemble directors, volunteers, and community partners.

This is a part-time position, averaging 20 hours per week. The schedule is flexible and may vary depending on the organization’s needs, including concert, rehearsal, and event support.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management:

  • Oversee and coordinate multiple programs, including choral ensembles, outreach initiatives, summer camps, and special events.
  • Manage and implement all compliance initiatives in accordance with the Americans for Disabilities Act.
  • Monitor program progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.

Event Planning:

  • Plan, attend, and execute a variety of events, such as concerts, camps, workshops, rehearsals, and fundraising activities.
  • Manage and coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Serve as Front of House Manager at all Choral Arts Collective produced performances.
  • Oversee box office ticketing management, in conjunction with ticketing service provider.
  • Oversee registration for classes, camps, and workshops.
  • Coordinate with volunteers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure event success.

Community Engagement:

  • Foster a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Director on marketing efforts to promote programs and drive participation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Represent the Choral Arts Collective at community events and meetings as needed.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact in The Choral Arts Collective office.
  • Carry out other administrative duties, including managing phones, calendars, scheduling, and reports.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all programs and events.
  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and other staff.
  • Oversee general office maintenance and supply management.
  • Provide basic IT support for staff and volunteers (as capable), including troubleshooting device and software issues.

Note: This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned as needed and commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Passion for the arts and alignment with the Choral Arts Collective’s mission.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Music, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in program management, event planning, or a related role.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 lbs., bend and stoop as required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful background check.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the nonprofit or arts sector.
  • Knowledge of choral music and performance practices.
  • Experience with project management software.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $18,000–$22,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Flexible schedule (20 hours per week).
  • Primarily in-person, with occasional remote work as approved.

Gate City Voices
Founded in 2022, Gate City Voices is a volunteer, auditioned chorus for community singers formed to sing exciting, large-scale repertoire alongside Bel Canto Company.
