Rachel P. Sommers has been singing with Bel Canto since 2012. Rachel holds a BS in Music Education from Western Carolina University and works as the Graphics Team Lead for the National Board for Certified Counselors. Rachel is a section leader for Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greensboro and is a founding member of The New Day Singers.

Rachel moved to Greensboro in 2012 and has been performing in various venues since. Her most notable roles include Fraulein Kost in Cabaret, Smee in Peter Pan, Fruma Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof, and she is most proud of her work as Ursula in The Little Mermaid.

Rachel lives happily in Greensboro with her husband, Erik, and together they share a wonderful home with their two cats: Empurror “Bert” Pawpatine; and the Notorious KIT, aka Kitty “Kit” Smalls.
