Carolyn Field Hall holds a B.M. Church Music; Wesleyan College, M.M.Ed. Choral; University of South Carolina and M.M. Choral Conducting; University of North Carolina Greensboro. Carolyn is a member of the Chancel Choir, First Presbyterian, Greensboro and sang with Bel Canto Company of Greensboro for many seasons. She has performed with the Charlotte Symphony, Charlotte Repertory Orchestra, Conductor’s Institute of South Carolina Orchestra Opera Program, Oratorio Singers of Charlotte, Oratorio Chamber Singers, Piedmont Chamber Singers, Columbia Choral Society, Augusta Choral Society, Opera Carolina and Augusta Opera. As a NC Regional Artist, she was a Fellow at the 2001 Conductors Institute of South Carolina and served as Conductor of the Gaston String Orchestra in Gastonia. An experienced choral music educator in South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina, she was the Founding Artistic Director of High Point Young Voices and taught private voice in High Point from which she is now retired. Carolyn has been on the Greensboro Opera Board of Directors and now on GO Board of Advisors. Her love of choral singing and conducting has been nurtured through the years by Dr. Sylvia Ross, Dr. Arpad Darazs, Dr. Mary Nell Saunders, Dr. William P. Carroll and Dr. Welborn Young. Member of SAI, ACDA, NCACDA and The Fellowship of Worship Artists. Ms. Hall lives in High Point with her husband Steve. Steve and I have been in choruses together since high school and are excited to sing again with Gate City Voices!
