Casey grew up outside of Atlanta. They sang in choir throughout school and had many foundational experiences along the way; these include performing during mass at The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York and Washington National Cathedral. Casey moved to Greensboro in 2015 in hopes of becoming an English professor. They earned a masters in Human Rights in Literature before finding their calling as a mental health counselor. She always knew she wanted to return to singing in choir, but between many years of graduate school and COVID-19, the can kept getting kicked down the road. In 2023, he had the opportunity to return to his high school to sing with alumni and present choir members in honor of their choir director, Dr. John Odom’s retirement. This joyful and fulfilling experience added some urgency to their pursuit, and she is so excited to be back in an ensemble. Casey lives with her partner, Israel Allen with their cat, Taco.
