Dr. Christy Wisuthseriwong is an active pianist and collaborator in the Triad. She is a faculty member at The Music Academy of North Carolina in Greensboro, teaching piano to students of all ages and levels since 2006. In addition to playing for Bel Canto Company, she also accompanies the Community Women’s Choir of Greensboro and works as a staff accompanist at Elon University. She received her Bachelor of Music in piano performance and pedagogy at Meredith College in Raleigh and studied Collaborative Piano at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she earned her Master of Music in 2001 and Doctor of Musical Arts in 2011.
Christy performs chamber music recitals at various schools and churches around the country. She has taught at Guilford College and has been an accompanist for the American Singers’ Opera Project at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, the Greensboro Opera Company chorus, UNCG Opera Theatre, NC-NATS auditions, and Community Theatre of Greensboro.
Internationally, Christy attended the opera performance and language study program Oberlin in Italy in 2001, and the University of Miami Frost School of Music German lieder program for singers and pianists in Salzburg, Austria in 2007. Dr. Wisuthseriwong is a member of the North Carolina Music Teachers’ Association and the National Guild of Piano Teachers.
