Nan Wooten

A native of Burlington, NC, Nan Wooten began studying music at age 7, playing piano and clarinet throughout her school years and into college. She played in the UNC Greensboro Concert Band as an undergraduate. Nan has sung with several church choirs and the Alamance Chorale. She currently serves as a section leader with the chancel choir of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington. She also serves as an assistant director of the Children’s Choir at FPC Burlington. Nan retired in 2012 after a 33-year career as a teacher and principal with the Alamance Burlington School System. Since retiring, Nan has worked as an adjunct instructor in the School of Education at both Elon University and UNC Greensboro. She currently teaches Dual Education students at UNC Greensboro. Nan has sung with Bel Canto for the past eight years and loves every moment of this opportunity!
