Sarah Love Taylor, mezzo-soprano, is delighted to join Bel Canto this season after first singing with the group as a member of the Greensboro Youth Chorus in 1995. Sarah’s operatic credits include the title role in Carmen (CCM Summer Opera), Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance (Greensboro Light Opera). She debuted the role of Oscar the Cat in Alejandro Rutty’s The Fight to be Favorite (Greensboro Opera). Also a passionate singer of oratorio, Sarah has appeared as a guest artist with Greensboro Choral Society, Durham Symphony Orchestra, Choral Society of Durham, Greensboro Oratorio Society, Concert Singers of Cary, Guilford College Choir, and Roanoke College Choir. For her work in art song and oratorio, she received third place nationally in the American Prize in 2016.
She earned her BM and BA (French) from UNC-Chapel Hill and her MM and DMA in Vocal Performance from UNC-Greensboro. She was the founding President of the Student NATS chapter at UNC-Greensboro. Sarah now serves on the music faculty at Greensboro College where she teaches Voice and Lyric Diction.
