Shyla Powell is excited to be singing with BCC for her first season! Shyla comes from a musical family, and has been a singer and/or instrumentalist for most of her life. She graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance with a concentration in Classical Voice in 2012. Since then Shyla has focused on using her speaking voice for supporting people on their journeys of healing and growth. She received her Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Care from Fordham University in 2018, and has since earned state licensure as a mental health counselor. Shyla now owns a small private practice as well as a coaching business called Love Wholly where she helps people heal and grow in their relationships with themselves, others and God. When not working or singing, Shyla loves rock tumbling, punch needle embroidery, and spending quality time with family and friends.
