This event will be presented free of charge. Donations are welcome.
On October 29, Bel Canto Company and organists John Alexander and Timothy Olsen will perform Yves Castagnet’s Messe Salve Regina to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the two Letourneau organs housed in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church. Castagnet has served as organist at Notre-Dame in Paris since 1988, and he wrote the mass with the acoustics of the cathedral and the richness of its two organs in mind. “It is with deep sincerity that I can say that this piece was truly inspired to me “by” and “for” Notre-Dame…the particular atmospheres of this unique place, so dear to my heart.”
Music for a Great Space will present this one in a lifetime virtual performance on their website and offer a live Q&A with the artists after the performance.
