Muse
Saturday, Oct. 12, 7:30pm | Monday Oct. 14, 7:30pm
Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1900 Walker Ave, Greensboro
When the soul of an artist finds its voice, their muse speaks through evocative, stirring, and exquisitely beautiful compositions.
The opening concert of Bel Canto Company’s 42nd Season weaves a tapestry of inspiring and moving selections by some of todays most insightful contemporary choral composers.
Jake Runestad’s Reflections, based on the writings of Thoreau, reminds us of the essential value of living fully without sacrificing time for introspection and reflection. Florence Price set’s her own text in Resignation, a description of her experience struggling for a better world in the time of legal segregation. Edie Hill’s We Bloomed in Spring on the words of St. Teresa of Avila, a glorious work in madrigal-esque style explores the mystery of the soul.
Come hear these pieces and more in a celebration of the beauty of existence and find your muse!
