Virginia Somerville Sutton Theatre, 4100 Well Spring Dr
Don’t miss the final concert of Bel Canto Company’s 42nd Season!
Tonight we embark on a journey of discovery. You’re invited to ramble along with us as we explore diverse geographic and emotional landscapes through exciting and captivating choral settings. Join us on a sojourn celebrating the spirit of adventure.
- Swimming Over London Set in an evocative jazz style, Bob Chilcott recalls memories of a lovely encounter in that great city. Chilcott’s lush harmonies and rhythmic energy reflect the feeling of gliding over the city’s iconic skyline, where each note paints a vivid picture of adventure and wonder.
- The beloved sea shanty The Wellerman entertains and inspires you to join along in this rousing arrangement.
- We will serenade you Moonlight In Vermont, a classic standard arranged by Darmon Meader. Steeped in a feeling of nostalgia and tranquility, it perfectly captures the beauty of a moonlit evening.
- Salutation by Ēriks Ešenvalds is a gorgeous a capella setting of Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore’s meditative poem that may well move you to tears.
- La Nuit en Mer by Henk Badings uses rich harmonies and an impressionistic style to conjure the mystery and allure of a “night at sea.”
- Plus selections by Shawn Kirchner, Jake Runestad, Gwyneth Walker, Bob Dylan, and more!
Ramblin’ promises an unforgettable journey filled with fun, hope, and musical beauty. Pack your bags and get on board!
