About The Choral Arts Collective:
The vision of The Choral Arts Collective is a community that celebrates excellence, diversity, and lifelong participation in choral music. Building on over 40 years as pillars of the Greensboro performing arts community, The Collective was established in 2021 through the merger of Bel Canto Company and Greensboro Youth Chorus. It was formed out of the shared desire of the two non-profits to build an intergenerational and equitable choral organization serving the Piedmont and beyond. We believe that providing excellent choral programming – ranging from music education to professional concerts – creates accessible and lifelong sources of enjoyment, fulfillment, and artistic expression for all, regardless of age, education, experience, or background.
Our mission is simple: to create engaging, inclusive, and entertaining choral experiences. Currently, The Choral Arts Collective includes three ensembles to carry out our mission:
Bel Canto Company
Founded in 1982, Bel Canto Company is a vocal ensemble of professional musicians, long recognized as the Triad’s premier choir.
Greensboro Youth Chorus
Founded in 1987, Greensboro Youth Chorus is comprised of three different choirs for students in grades K through 12, dedicated to teaching music and life skills through choral performance.
Gate City Voices
Founded in 2022, Gate City Voices is a new opportunity for community singers in search of distinctive performance opportunities to sing exciting, largescale repertoire with Bel Canto Company.
