Let My Love Be Heard – Jake Runestad

We are thrilled to share the first performance of the Bel Canto Company Virtual Community Choir singing Jake Runestad’s “Let My Love Be Heard.”

The Virtual Community Choir strives to provide a venue for the Greater Greensboro community to unite through song. If you are interested in singing with us, we hope you will join Bel Canto Company in future virtual choir projects. Join our mailing list and/or watch our website for future opportunities.

Runestad’s setting of “A Prayer” by Alfred Noyes beautifully captures our grief ascending to the heavens in a period marked by social injustice and pandemic in hope of a gentle reprieve from our pain:

Angels, where you soar
Up to God’s own light,
Take my own lost bird
On your hearts tonight,
And as grief once more
Mounts to heaven and sings,
Let my love be heard
Whispering in your wings.

Thank you to everyone who submitted videos for this performance; to the generous donors who gave in support of this project; and to Crumley Roberts and the Greensboro Cultural Center/City of Greensboro for their support of Bel Canto Company and our 2020-2021 Season.
